The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu, in collaboration with Don Bosco Image Film School, organized a one-day intensive workshop on Filmmaking. The workshop was designed to enhance students' creative and technical skills in visual storytelling, production planning, camera handling, and post-production essentials. The session was facilitated by industry experts from Don Bosco Image Film School, providing students with hands-on exposure to the contemporary demands of the media and film industry. Fr. Dickson Eugune (Director, Don Bosco Film School), Mr. Amjad Hassan (Film Editor), Mr. Aman Leni Joseph (Film Director), Mr. Nandhu Kumar S (Cinematographer) handled the sessions.

Media Visit to Manorama News Channel, Mazhavil Manorama, and the Malayala Manorama newspaper, November 2025

As part of the curriculum requirements for the MA Journalism and Mass Communication programme, the Department organized a comprehensive media visit on 20 November 2025. The visit aimed to give students first-hand exposure to professional news environments across television, digital, and print platforms. The students were provided with an immersive experience at Manorama News Channel, Mazhavil Manorama, and the Malayala Manorama newspaper headquarters.

Media Visit to Asianet News Channel, Trivandrum, February 2025

The students of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication undertook a media visit to Asianet News Chanel, Trivandrum, on 14th February 2025. The visit provided students with valuable exposure to the functioning of a leading Malayalam News Chanel and an opportunity to observe the various processes involved in television news production. The students were taken around different departments including the news studio, newsroom, control room and editing suite.

Media Visit to Deepika Newspaper, February 2021

As part of their educational curriculum, first-year postgraduate students of journalism undertook a media visit to the Deepika Newspaper office and the Kannur Press Club on 23rd February 2021. The students were briefed by Bureau Chief and college alumnus, Mr. Reneesh Mathew, on news gathering, editing, and the printing process of the evening newspaper Rashtra Deepika. In the post-lunch session, the students interacted with Mr. A.K. Haris, President of the Kannur Press Club, gaining insights into the operations of a press club.

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a hands-on workshop on Camera Handling and Video Editing with the objective of equipping students with practical skills essential for contemporary media production. The session was led by Mr. Ajith Joseph, an experienced media professional associated with Asianet News, Thiruvananthapuram. The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry practices.

The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism facilitated the participation of its students in a two-day training programme on Parliamentary Reporting conducted by the Kerala Legislative Assembly Media and Parliamentary Study Centre on 12th and 13th February 2025. The training aimed to provide hands-on exposure to the functioning of the legislature, rules of reporting, and the role of the media in parliamentary democracy.
